Instructions

  • Remove Trader Joe's Shawarma Chicken Thighs from packaging and pat dry with a paper towel.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken thighs.
  • Cook chicken for 6-8 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the exterior is nicely browned and slightly charred.
  • Remove cooked chicken from the skillet and let rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes.
  • While the chicken rests, gently warm the Trader Joe's Original Hummus Dip if desired, or allow it to come to room temperature.
  • Fluff the Trader Joe's Cauliflower Tabbouleh with a fork to separate the grains.
  • Slice the rested chicken thighs into desired bite-sized pieces.
  • To assemble each bowl, spread a generous portion of hummus at the bottom of the serving bowl.
  • Arrange sliced shawarma chicken and a portion of cauliflower tabbouleh over the hummus.
  • Serve immediately, optionally garnished with fresh herbs or an extra drizzle of olive oil.

Notes

Ensure the Shawarma chicken thighs are cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for food safety. For enhanced flavor and texture, allow the chicken to develop a slight char on the exterior. While the recipe uses pre-made hummus, gently warming it can create a creamier, more inviting texture. Consider garnishing the finished bowls with fresh parsley or cilantro, a drizzle of high-quality olive oil, and a sprinkle of sumac for an authentic touch and vibrant presentation. This dish is excellent for meal prep, as components can be stored separately and assembled just before serving.
