Equipment

  • 1 Small Mixing Bowl For preparing the marinade
  • 1 Whisk or Spoon To thoroughly combine marinade ingredients
  • 1 Large resealable plastic bag For coating and marinating pretzels

Ingredients

Main

  • ¾ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1 ounce package dry Ranch-style dressing mix
  • 1 ½ teaspoons garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon lemon pepper
  • 1 ½ 15 ounce packages mini pretzels

Instructions

  • Mix together oil, dressing mix, garlic salt, cayenne, and lemon pepper in a small bowl until combined.
  • Place pretzels in a large resealable plastic bag. Pour in ranch dressing mixture. Seal the bag and shake to coat. Allow pretzels to marinate for about 2 hours before serving. Shake occasionally to maintain coating.

Notes

To ensure maximum flavor adherence, use a sturdy, high-quality resealable bag and ensure pretzels are completely dry before adding the marinade. For a more intense flavor and a slightly crisper texture, consider allowing them to air-dry on a sheet pan for an hour or two after the initial marination, or a very brief, low-temperature bake (e.g., 200°F/95°C for 15-20 minutes). Adjust cayenne pepper to personal preference; a pinch more can elevate the heat. Don't underestimate the lemon pepper – it provides a vital bright, zesty counterpoint to the savory and spicy notes. Consistent shaking during the marination period is crucial for an even, delicious coating on every pretzel.
