  • cup butter melted
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons butter melted

  • Cover and cook on High for 3 to 4 hours.

Notes

While canned sweet potatoes offer convenience, for an elevated flavor profile, consider using fresh sweet potatoes. Roast them whole until tender, then peel and mash for a richer, less watery base. Elevate the casserole's complexity by adding a pinch of warm spices like cinnamon or nutmeg, and a splash of vanilla extract to the sweet potato mixture. For an extra crisp topping, lightly toast the pecans before combining them with other topping ingredients. Ensure the topping is spread evenly across the surface for consistent texture. Avoid lifting the slow cooker lid frequently, as this releases heat and prolongs cooking time.
