Notes

For optimal results, ensure the double boiler maintains a gentle simmer to prevent scorching the butterscotch chips; slow melting ensures a smooth, uniform mixture. Alternatively, a microwave can be used on low power, stirring frequently every 30 seconds. For an elevated flavor, consider adding a pinch of flaky sea salt to the mixture before combining with noodles and peanuts, which beautifully contrasts the sweetness. Ensure the haystacks are fully cooled and set before serving to maintain their structure. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for best freshness.
