  • 1 Cocktail muddler
  • 1 Jigger or Measuring Tool
  • 1 Bar Spoon

Ingredients

Main

  • 2 fluid ounces silver tequila such as Patron®
  • 12 leaves mint
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 3 lime wedges
  • ¼ cup club soda or as needed

Instructions

  • Combine tequila, mint, sugar, and lime in a tall glass; mash mint and lime well with a cocktail muddler. Top with club soda and stir gently to serve.

Notes

For a superior Mojito, always use fresh, vibrant mint; gently muddle only enough to release its aromatic oils without bruising, which can impart bitterness. While lime wedges are used, a splash of freshly squeezed lime juice can enhance brightness. Consider using simple syrup instead of granulated sugar for a smoother dissolution, preventing a grainy texture. Add the club soda last, gently stirring to maintain its effervescence. Serve over crushed ice to achieve optimal chill and dilution, and garnish with a generous mint sprig and a lime wheel for an appealing presentation. Taste and adjust sweetness and tartness before serving.
