Notes

For a richer flavor profile, consider adding a tablespoon of chili powder and a teaspoon of cumin to the ground beef as it browns. This will deepen the 'taco' essence. To achieve a perfectly tender noodle and prevent mushiness, ensure the casserole is tightly sealed with foil during the initial bake to create a steamy environment. You can also experiment with different cheese blends; a smoked gouda or a sharp cheddar can add a delightful complexity. Always allow the casserole to rest for 5-10 minutes after baking; this helps the liquids reabsorb and the cheese set, making for cleaner portions.
