Barbecue is always a popular choice for everyone’s get-togethers. Brisket, in particular, has a special place in the hearts of barbecue fans. It’s flavourful and tender. But it’s not at all easy to cook it perfectly – it takes a bit of finesse, and Chef Julian shares his great insights on barbecue. When preparing your own barbecue at home, the rub and cooking time are critical. It’s a good idea to leave the brisket for two days before barbecuing, and you can try mixing basic ingredients such as salt, pepper, onion and garlic for the marinade – adding a little brown sugar will make it more flavoursome too.

When you don’t want to prepare all of these troublesome steps, but would love to have delicious barbecue right away, try a few of the great barbecue joints I’ve recommended.
